So as I said in my comment, this piece summed up for me is; deep, red and moody!
The square composition works incredibly well with the elements placed within it. That path that curves off to the left and winds back into view slightly, really is for me the symbolic pathway to a 'headache', perhaps after running around all day trying to get things done or metaphorically not being sure your following the right path in life.
Also, that incredibly deep atmosphere is so dramatic! It's such a clear photo too, not to grainy from the fog at all! The way that the light gets brighter at the top though, provides a nice contrast to the darkest tree areas, and even adds a mystical or magical feeling.
I love those leaves too, it's almost a like a fiery yet crunchy sea of lava against the lack ground, very very attractive to the eye and providing yet another contrast, between the texture of so many sharp leaves and the smooth glowing fog.
Some brilliant photography/editing work has gone into this, I really do love it, it all works so well together and is far more than a randomly taken shot, there's so many artistic techniques that work together to make it successful. The only thing I would be tempted to change, would be to remove some of the smaller background elements from the foggy areas, just to add an ultra smooth effect, and prevent any distraction from the areas you really want people looking at, like the leaves etc,. Of course, this is personal choice and some people prefer to leave their photos largely untouched, and congrats on positioning things so well without it
